It is used to reduce the permeability of the rock and improve its sealing properties. The goal is to prevent water <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from migrating through the rock structure, which extends the service life of the structure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well-grouted rock is efficient and safe to excavate. Grouting can also prevent the groundwater table from dropping as a result of excavation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the grouting process, grout is pumped under pressure into grouting holes drilled into the rock, filling cracks and fissures. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The desired grouting pressure achieved during pumping ensures that the grout spreads as planned.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most commonly<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">used grouting materials are fine-grained grouting cement or various chemical grouting agents.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Different grouting methods <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and materials used<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on the site, we use different grouting methods and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">materials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Pre-grouting<\/strong> is by far the most important stage in terms of sealing the structure, and it is always carried out before tunnel excavation. The aim is to seal the rock a desired number of metres ahead, in order to avoid problems caused by fracturing and water flow.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Post-grouting<\/strong> can be used to increase the tightness of the rock in specific areas. It is usually carried out only when, for example, individual water-leakage points need to be sealed after excavation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The primary grouting material is almost always a fine-grained grouting cement mix.<\/strong>However, grouting can also be performed with chemical agents. This is commonly referred to as chemical grouting, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in which the grouting material used is resin-based.
